The mean ol vet told my Mommy I was too chunky and he yelled at her even though she doesn't let me have many treats. I was sneaking my little Brother's food and then he would be hungry and bring the bowl to Mommy and she would give him some more because he was skinny. Then we got a fenced in yard so we didn't need leashes anymore and my brother Bailey started eating things in the yard that Mommy called, "Gross!!" So I got to eat more of his food because he would wait until it was really dark so Mommy couldn't see him and then eat the gross stuff.
Now Mommy feeds us and sits there and watches us eat so I can't steal his food anymore. I get to eat green beans, they are tastey! I wish I could only eat green beans and not my dog food. I really like it better when I had to take my medicine and Mommy cooked me chicken and rice or hamburger and rice. I have light food and light treats and I can't eat as much as I want to. But Mommy gives me extra ear scratches when I pout. I have her trained pretty good, she will keep petting me if I paw at her when she stops. Sometimes I paw at her for an hour and her hand gets tired. She likes it when I sit next to her and lean on her so she can't move. Well it is time for my nap before bed. Night Night!

Your foster Mom and Dad are workig hard for you, I know having had to help some other beagles lose weight.

SHe looks wonderful in her most recent pictures & she looks like she feels better. BONES you are doing a wonderful job. Today is the first I have ever heard of dogs being rescued from labs up until know I thought they were always killed after the labs were done with them. | Message: | keep it up Heidi!! my Artie weighed 40 lb when we rescued him 2 years ago. He know is a healthy, sexy 29 lbs for a 13 incher!! He understands your passion for food, but he learned carrot sticks and lots of head pats and butt scratches do a good job for making up for it. Also I break the treat biscuits up into smaller pieces, so he gets little pieces of treat biscuits instead of whole ones. He is a happier more healthier beag, and now his front leg that used to bother him all the time hardly bothers him anymore at all. He is a lucky beag now!! Even the vet is very pleased he is no longer overweight!! We want to get him a girlfriend beag, but we have two other senior dogs and are waiting until one of them crosses the rainbow bridge first. Best of luck with Miss Heidi, we are so glad that BONES Intervened!! She deserves a chance at a healthy life!

| Message: | Heidi, you are one lucky girl. I used to live with the Springer beagles too. They taught me ALL about the fine art of arroooing, and love. I learned all about love there. My human Mom shares her toast with me, maybe someday you can have toast too.

| Message: | Good luck beautiful girl. Our owners Nancy & Mike love beagles and think you are just precious. We would love to have you come to our family and play with us. We have a fenced in yard and two other dogs (a boxer and a havanese) that are here to run with us. We are totally spoiled with love and go to the dog park when we can. Mom has time off during the day and she spend it all playing with us. Mike works from home most of the time so we can go in and out all day long. Drives them a bit nutty but they still allow us to run and play whenever we want... Good luck and hope to see you soon.
